Hapkido Australia recognises legitimate prior training. Grades earned in any Hapkido lineage are assessed and recognised on review. The national standard unifies; it does not exclude.
A candidate holding a grade from another Hapkido lineage is not required to begin again. Prior grades are assessed on review against the national standard and recognised where the standard is met. Recognition is a matter of assessment, not of style or affiliation.
Candidates bring their certificates and grading history to their first assessment. Recognition is confirmed once the standard for the grade claimed has been demonstrated.
Rank is responsibility, not reward.
