Code of Conduct

The standard of conduct expected of every member, instructor and affiliated club of Hapkido Australia. Membership is not a title; it is a commitment to the standard.

Conduct and character

Every member agrees to uphold the standard of conduct required of a national governing body. This includes:

  • Ethical leadership and respect for students, instructors and officials.
  • Student safety and, where applicable, child safety and student protection.
  • Rank integrity: honest representation of rank and title.
  • Anti-bullying, anti-harassment, and no abuse of authority.
  • Safe training practices and professional communication.
  • Cooperation with complaints and compliance with disciplinary outcomes.

Discipline and complaints

Where the standard is breached, Hapkido Australia has authority to act through a defined process:

  • 01Complaint intake and initial risk review.
  • 02Temporary suspension where required.
  • 03Investigation, with a right of response.
  • 04Review panel and outcome notice.
  • 05Appeal pathway, and removal authority where warranted.

Rank is responsibility, not reward.
